GRADESHEET (tm)
Grade management for the professional educator.
Version 2.2
GRADESHEET version 2.2 combines elements from spreadsheets, databases,
statistical packages, and information managers to create an integrated
environment for processing student grades. The program serves instructors
in Universities, Colleges, and High schools using the lecture format of
instruction. GRADESHEET has an SAA-style architecture with pull-down
menus, dialog boxes, full mouse support, and powerful hot-keys for ease
of use and increased productivity right away. GRADESHEET's clean,
organized approach to grading method offers you the flexibility to grade
the way you want to grade.
The GRADESHEET program offers the following features:
1) Can handle letter and numeric grades.
2) Four types of averages: Total Points, Normalized Total Points,
Weighted Average, and Grade Point Average.
3) Graphical distributions of scores and averages along with statistics
for mean, median, and standard deviation.
4) A pop-up note pad that can attach a note to a student. The student is
marked as having an attached note. Notes can be up to 8k in length.
5) A spreadsheet format that places large amounts of information on the
screen at once.
6) And a more discreet roster format that only shows a list of names or
ids, with the data being accessible through a pop-up data box.
7) Facilities for easily entering a stack of student scores, with an
integrated pop-up adding calculator and the ability to remap the numeric
keypad to the letters A,B,C,D, and F.
8) Sorts data by name, id, average, any score, or group by section.
9) Standard printouts, and a Custom Print facility enabling you to choose
which data elements are printed out and in what order.
10) Integrated and full featured print editor for editing your print-outs
before sending them to the printer.
11) All data fields can be locked to prevent inadvertent edits.
12) Can drop lowest, next lowest, and high & low scores; and un-drop all
previously dropped scores.
13) And much much more....
GRADESHEET runs on IBM-compatable computers running DOS 3.0 or later,
and requires at least 500k of free memory. A hard disk and at least a
286 processor are highly recommended. GSHLITE is a smaller version of
GRADESHEET without the print editor, and can run in as little as 425k.
Each program can handle up to 300 students given sufficient memory.
GRADESHEET is shareware and is available from quality bulletin boards,
information services, or directly from Cypher Mountain Systems, (413)-
458-3799, P.O. Box 307, Williamstown, MA 01267.
